Spend the Day at Safari West

June 04, 2018

This Father’s Day, treat Dad and the family to a bit of Africa in the heart of the wine country with a day trip to Safari West. A 400-acre preserve referred to as the “Sonoma Serengeti,” invites guests to experience a three-hour riding and walking adventure. Safari West is AZA-accredited and was awarded the fourth place in the USA Today Best Safari parks in the U.S. by a panel of experts. Visitors can get closeup views of endangered and exotic animals, including giraffes, gazelles, buffalo, zebras, oryx, wildebeest, lemurs, and many other of hundreds of animals that call the preserve home.

In addition to entertainment, Safari West places a high priority on education and conservation. This was particularly important when the area was engulfed by the Tubb’s Fire last year. Owner Peter Lang defended his preserve and his animals with only a few garden hoses and was selected by the American Red Cross as the recipient of their 2018 Animal Rescue Hero award. Safari West offers a Classic Safari Tour, with some restrictions for younger children. For reservations and more information, click here.
